    ULXD4Q issues with wireless workbench
    Personal Computer:
    Lenovo Thinkpad t430
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Shure Hardware:
    ULXD4Q on 1.4.14

    I'm having an issue getting the ULXD4Q to communicate properly with WWB6. I have the unit plugged directly into my computer via ethernet. It shows the device online in WWB, but will not monitor rf, battery level, etc. I can ping the unit and it responds just fine. When I hit flash all devices nothing happens, and when I try to do a fequency scan from WWB it says "timed out waiting for scanner to respond."

      Hi Brian,

      This type of behavior is typically indicative of some sort of firewall issue. The quickest and easiest way to verify if this is the case is to disable the Windows Firewall. 

      Bring up the Windows Firewall control panel.

      Click "Turn Windows Firewall on or off."

      Click "Turn off Widows Firewall" for all choices. (Note, you made need your system administrator to get permission.)

      Note that if you have third-party security software (e.g.  Symantec), then that may be causing issues as well. 

      Try that and let us know if it works.

      Hey Gino,

      That was exactly the problem, thanks! 

      Now I'm having a similiar issue with some UR4Ds, they say the network is on but the devices won't show up in WWB. Firewall is off, I can ping the units, but no luck discovering them. Any help would be great!

      Check the firmware. If the receivers are not at least at 1.166, they won't show up in your inventory. The new Shure Update Utility can be used to bring them up to date.

      Just realized that, any tips for getting the devices to show up in update utility if they aren't? 4 units connected through a router, set to dhcp.

      Nevermind, got them to show up and the firmware update fixed my issue. Thanks
