    Title:
Cannot get the PSM1000 onto the network
    Description:

    Howdy
I just added a PSM1000 to my network of U4RD+'s. With WWB5, my network has worked without problems. However, I cannot get the PSM1000 onto the network. I have used both manual and auto mode to no avail. WWB6 sees everything in the existing network but not the PSM1000. I have entered the correct IP address and subnet mask in manual mode (in the PSM1000) but no-go.
Shouldn't there be a network icon in the display? The ethernet port lights up correctly....
The PSM1000 is firmware version 1.1.0.
Do I need to update? And how do I update if it doesn't see the network?
    WWB6 is version 6.4.0.31.

    Thanks

      Hi Ed,

While WWB6 itself will not "discover" the older PSM1000 devices, the Firmware Manger will - and can be used to update the firmware of the PSM1000 to a version that will be discovered and managed by WWB6. In this example - loading P10T version 1.3.6 and P10R version 1.3.2. (the most current version as of this time)

      In summary:
With your computer connected to the Internet:
      1. WWB6: Menu > Tools > Firmware Update Manager...

      2. Firmware Manager: Select "Check Now" then check the firmware you want to download to your computer.
Make sure to select both P10T (1.3.6), and P10R (1.3.2) then select "Download"

      3. When the download has completed, click "Close"

      4. Now make sure your computer is connected to the network with your devices. This may have been the case all along, but different people may have different network setups. Then re-launch the Firmware Manager: WWB6: Menu > Tools > Firmware Update Manager...

      5. In the Firmware Manager "Updatable Devices" column, the "P10T (PSM1000 Transmitter)" should show in the list with a summary:
"Latest firmware is available to install (1.3.6) / 1 on previous, 2 set to update (1 hosted)"

      * If you click on the summary, a dialog showing more detail regarding which devices and versions will be updated. Select "Return to main"

      6. Select "Start Update" and you will see status for both the "P10T" and hosted "P10R"
When the update has completed the P10T will reboot and the Firmware Manager will report the status of the update.
Look at the P10T menu: Util > ...
This will indicate the newly loaded P10T Firmware.

At this point you should be able to "discover" the PSM1000 device in WWB6.

It is recommended to keep the portable (P10R) up to date as well. To update the P10R (Portable Receiver) firmare via IR:
      1. On the transmitter, navigate to the Util > More > FWUpdate menu.
      2. Align the receiver and transmitter IR ports and press Download. This will take ~1 minute.

      Hope that helps!

I have tried to resolve this but i need some help.

we have installed wireless workbench 6 but only 2 of our recivers are

being detected. the ones being detected are running ver. 1.165

the ones not being detected are running 1.152 i cannot find the option to update the firmware.

I have tried on various machines running WWB4, WWB5, WWB6 and the firmware update manager

will not detect our hardware, all of our hardware are the dual UR4D, sorry if this is a basic question.

      your help is appreciated

      Jonathan,

See the following topic, which gives step-by-step instructions for upgrading UR firmware. Note that you must use Version 5 to update those receivers, the Firmware Updates manager in Version 6 will not recognize UHF-R receivers.

ok thanks, I looked at this link previously and was unable to get the firmware updated using those steps, but we are in the run of our production now so no firmware updates, I will try this again, hopefully with more success once the show is through.
